His years at Northwestern gave him an invaluable glimpse into the issues of finance, promotion, and administration. Although he was never talented in any of these areas, he surrounded himself with associates who were. They taught him to delegate responsibility, to tap the right sources of advice, and how to create a team. Several of the staff and faculty at Northwestern later joined Graham’s evangelistic organization. Minneapolis would become the headquarters for Billy’s worldwide ministry. It was at this time that Graham began to hold revival meetings on his own during breaks from Youth for Christ and absences from the college.

He saw natural disasters as a sign of God’s wrath, calling for people to repent and accept the truths of the Bible or face the consequences. None of this material was new. It was standard fundamentalist fare.
