Similarly, sentences 2 and 3 could have been written as a single sentence: We walk down the street and we go to the supermarket. So propositions can be written and spoken as single sentences, or linked by and to form longer sentences. In fact, the text of Shopping seems rather artificial, because we don't usually talk in a series of simple sentences.
